WOOD APPEARS TO BE MAPLE WITH FANTASTIC ORIGINAL DRY RED PAINT SHOWING MINOR SCUFFS or WEAR WITH A COUPLE OF DRYING CRACKS THAT I WOULD CONSIDER VERY MINOR AND ARE PICTURED. I WAS TOLD IT BELONGED TO A NEW ENGLAND PATRIOT WHO DIED BEFORE HE COULD BE OFF TO FIGHT AND HIS FAMILY FROM MAINE HAD PASSED IT DOWN OVER THE YEARS.
