Serial number S/N 7237XXX indicates a Longines mechanical manually wound movement, caliber 8.68N.  It was invoiced on Septermber 9 1947 to the company of Wittnauer which was at that time the subsidiary in New York.  The watch band was produced locally under license from Longines.
