Description: Spanish PATILLA MIQUELET Flintlock .69 Caliber PISTOL with Family Crest Antique Large Martial Pistol with Belt Hook Here we present an antique Spanish Patilla Miquelet Belt Pistol, made circa 1820 in Spain. This is an earlier iteration of the flintlock mechanism that remained popular in Spain much longer than the rest of Europe. This is a large martial or fighting pistol made for carry on a belt with that long hook. There is a maker’s mark on top of the barrel. There are some other markings on the left side of the barrel that may be unit inventory markings. The top of the grip has a large brass plate with a family crest featuring castles and rampant lions. The overall condition is good. Gray patina. The action is strong. The bore is smooth and patinated. The stock is a bit thin out toward the muzzle with some very minor splitting; otherwise solid.
