The metal is in very good plus condition with ""combat wear"". Col Schell was awarded two Purple Hearts, Croix de Guerre, Bronze Star and Silver Star. The Silver Star was awarded for leading the first boats across the Rhine River and turning back German forces during the Battle of the Bulge. An excellent condition M1911A1 with interesting history.
