Colt Government Model 1911-A1 Civilian Pistol Issued To The State Of Connecticut Military Dept. With Factory Letter

This Colt was produced in 1951. The pistol's serial number is 248692-C. This Colt does show some light service use and wear. The bore is in very good condition. The barrel is the correct barrel for this pistol and is not a replacement. The original bluing would rate a 98% condition. The plastic dark brown grips are the highly collectable 'Pony" grips. These grips are in very fine condition with no stretch marks on the screw bases. There is no idiot marks on this Colt! The magazine is the correct magazine for this Colt. The Colt Factory Letter states that this Colt was shipped to the State Of Connecticut Military Dept. State Armory On February 23rd 1951. You seldom see Civilian Model Colt pistols issued to Military Districts or State Armory's. Very few of these Pistols were latter sold to the civilian market. Here is one of these amazing Colts! This Colt being shipped to it's home state is a real plus for the collector!
