Colt Model 1911 Military World War One Issue With Holster
Description: This Colt was produced in 1918. The pistol's serial number is 275267. The barrel has the HP stamp on top of the barrel. The bore is in very fine condition with a bright bore with sharp lands. There is no frosting or pitting of the bore. The bluing is the war time weak finish. The slide shows holster wear around the muzzle area. The slide bluing would rate a 88% overall condition. The frame would rate a 92% overall condition. The barrel blue would rate a 95% overall condition. The original wood grips are in very good condition. There is some flattening of the checkering points in spots on the left panel. The right panel checkering is sharp. The magazine is the earlier style military magazine with the staple on the floor plate for the lanyard attachment. The action is smooth and locks up tight. The slide has very little play and is snug on the rails. The original springs are in fine condition with good tension. This Colt shows service use and wear but no abuse. The World War One holster is by Warren Leather Goods Co. and is dated 1917. The model 1916 holster is in very fine condition with no loose stiching or leather cracking. The leather is supple and very serviceable. This is a very nice condition World War One issued Colt that has not gone through a government rebuild program. This pistol is a good representation of a last production series 1918 production 1911 pistol with a original holster. This is the kind of pistol that you can go and shoot as well as display in your collection. This is a nice quality 1911 pistol for the collector to enjoy and have fun with!
