1916 DWM Imperial Navy Luger, Refinished.

Description:
The Imperial Navy is one of the rarest WWI guns.

This example has been refinished but is from a very difficult year to obtain, with the Imperial Navy Crown acceptance proof (crown/M) and matching numbers (see note below) except the magazine. A WWI bring back with no import marks or post-war “GERMANY” stamp.

Serial numbered:

• on the front of the receiver
• on the bottom of the barrel

Last two digits of the serial number:

• on the bottom of the locking bolt
• on the bottom the side plate
• on the top of the trigger (under the side plate)
• on top of the safety  (barely visible, almost completely removed due to refinishing)
• sear
• safety stop

The 1916 date is visible on the front site band and on the front left rail of the frame. 

Issues:

• Refinished.  No straw colors remain.
• Incorrect Magazine? No concentric rings on the magazine wood plug.  No Imperial Navy poof stamp. 
• Last two digits of the serial number not visible on the rear toggle (seen from the rear of the pistol).
• Smooth grips.  Grips are .300 thick.
