Exceptional 1885 Colt Model 1877 Thunderer 41 Colt 3 1/2'' Nickel

Description:
1885 Colt Model 1877 Thunderer chambered in 41 lc with a 3.5 inch ejectorless acid etched barrel and factory nickel finish. It was shipped to St. Louis , MO May 9, 1885. This revolver remains in very high condition. All numbers match on the frame, grip frame, trigger guard, and grips. Almost all of the nickel remains sharp. There is no high edge wear and the grip straps are in extremely high condition. As seen in the photos there are various areas of minor handling as well as a few spots of pin prick flaking. Overall the finish rates 97%. The bore is bright and shiny with strong lands and grooves. It shows just a couple of small areas of patchy frost. It rates a 9 out of 10. The action cycles perfectly and the lock up is tight. That is something that is almost impossible to find on one of these especially an early one like this. The grips are also in very good condition with minor wear. Upgrading this 140 year old example will be a very tough task.
