The grips are very fine. This is a gun issued to the New York Militia. It has markings on the grips and on the butt of the gun that this gun was issued to Troop C which was stationed in Brooklyn. This gun comes with a letter of authentication from noted Colt Single Action expert John Kopec. He declares it all original and awarded this gun the coveted Golden seal reserved for only the original and finest guns at Mr. Kopec’s discretion.
