Cole was Silas Ebeneezer Cole who was a Canadian attorney who Colt hired as a patent attorney. This gun is a deluxe ebony case. The case very fine accessories along with 3 very nice skin packets. Under the embossed compartment lid is a mushroom head cleaning rod. This gun came out of the famous Robert Pershing collection of Colts. Mr. Pershing was a very astute collector who authored a number of articles on his research. Accompanying this gun is detailed description of this gun and Mr. Pershing research.
