Colt Single Action Army Revolver In The Bisley Model 44 W.C.F. With Interesting Factory Letter
Description:
This Colt was produced in 1898. This pistol's serial number is 176040. It is fitted with a 4 3/4 inch 44 W.C.F. Frontier Six Shooter Barrel. The barrel is marked Bisley Model and Frontier Six Shooter. The bore is in bright minty condition. The cylinder chambers also are in minty condition. The action works great with no issues. The original bluing would rate a 94% overall condition. The Nitre Blued hammer, trigger and screws show 96% of that brilliant finish. The screws are in fine condition with no marring. The grips are in very fine condition with no issues or damage. The cylinder base pin has the correct small hole at the head and end of the pin. The color cased finish is fully intact. The color casing is lightly faded but shows strong coloring. The factory letter states that this Colt was shipped to their San Francisco Agency on February 12th 1898. This is a very fine condition Bisley Model. with being shipped to the Colt Agency in San Francisco several years before the big Earth Quake of 1906. This Bisley is a real stunning pistol in a very collectable chambering! This Colt would fit in with any Single Action Collection to show the wonderful variety of these early Single Action Colts!
