Revolver C&R NICE Snub Nose Perfect CONCEAL & CARRY Self Defense Pistol Here we present a C&R Colt Detective Special made in 1971 by the Colt Manufacturing Company in Hartford, Connecticut, with a production run from 1927 through 1995. The Colt Detective Special is a six-shot, carbon steel framed, 2" or 3" barreled, double-action revolver, and the first example of a class of firearms known as "snubnose revolvers". As the name "Detective Special" suggests, it was intended to be a concealed weapon used by plainclothes police detectives. The Detective Special was designed from the outset to be chambered for higher-powered cartridges such as the .38 Special, considered to be a powerful caliber for a concealable pocket revolver of the day. The Detective Special uses a slightly smaller frame than the Colt Official Police. The overall condition is very fine. Original finish. The numbers match. The action is excellent.
