This is the nicest First Generation SAA Colt I've handled. The bluing is thinning in spots but still there and the case-hardening outlines are still visible. The action and the bore are perfect. As this is a black powder era Colt the bore condition is amazing. This was not a Colt that spent a lot of holster time riding the range. The accompanying letter says it was shipped to Simmons Hardware in St Louis in 1891. It looks like a well-cared for 120-25 year-old Colt. First Gen. grips are original to the gun and in very nice condition.
My photography skills are pretty limited and don't do this gun justice but if you'd like different pictures of this, tell me and I will try to get them for you.
