Serial #60468, .38 Special, 1 5/8 inch pinned barrel with an excellent bore. This is the Pre-Model 37 Chiefs Special Airweight revolver manufactured by Smith & Wesson in 1955 featuring the early flat-latch cylinder release. The J frame round butt revolver retains about 85-90% of the original blue finish on the steel barrel and cylinder thinning at the muzzle and high edges with the alloy frame showing loss along both sides of the top strap and scattered tiny spots overall. The trigger and hammer show original case-hardened colors. The original S&W diamond center checkered walnut magna grips are correctly numbered to the gun. It locks up tight with smooth trigger pull. FFL or C&R
