Serial #129167, .38 Special, 2 inch barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is the Smith & Wesson Pre-Model 37 Chiefs Special Airweight revolver with an aluminum alloy frame and flat latch manufactured from 1951-57. The barrel is marked Airweight. In excellent overall condition the only flaw is a broken edge of the hammer (see photos). The metal surfaces retain about 96-97% of the original finish with a faint drag line on the cylinder and some scattered light use and carry marks with the trigger and hammer showing the original bright case colors. The diamond center checkered walnut grips are numbered to the gun and remain in excellent condition. A very nice example of the Chiefs Special Airweight.
