To counteract the violent muzzle climb inherent to a short-barreled .44 Magnum, Taurus integrates multiple gas expansion ports directly into the top of the barrel near the muzzle. These ports bleed off expanding gases upward, pushing the front of the gun down to drastically minimize muzzle flip and quicken follow-up shots. The firearm utilizes a vital safety transfer bar mechanism.
