Built during the transitional post-1989 import era, this Egyptian Maadi ARM Sporter delivers the proven AKM operating system in a factory sporting configuration imported by ACC/INTRAC of Knoxville, Tennessee. Chambered in 7.62×39mm, it offers the rugged reliability that made the Kalashnikov family famous while remaining an increasingly desirable example of Egyptian production for collectors and shooters alike.

Manufactured by the Maadi Company using Soviet-pattern tooling, this rifle utilizes the legendary long-stroke gas piston system renowned for dependable function in adverse conditions. The chrome-lined barrel, stamped steel receiver, and traditional AKM architecture provide the durability and reliability expected from one of the closest commercial counterparts to the Soviet AKM ever imported into the United States.

The factory thumbhole hardwood stock was incorporated to satisfy U.S. import regulations while maintaining excellent control and natural handling characteristics. Standard AKM controls remain simple, durable, and intuitive, with adjustable iron sights providing dependable target acquisition. The rifle balances well and preserves the unmistakable feel of an authentic Egyptian Maadi.

This example retains its factory threaded 14×1 LH muzzle and now wears an aftermarket muzzle device. An aftermarket railed dust cover has also been installed, allowing optic mounting while preserving the original receiver. These additions are easily reversible for collectors seeking a more factory-correct appearance while offering increased versatility for shooters who prefer modern accessories.

Authentic Egyptian Maadi rifles continue to earn respect among AK enthusiasts for their close adherence to Soviet AKM manufacturing methods and their limited import history.
