Alexander Henry .303 Best Quality Falling Block

Description:
Here is a wonderful, best-quality falling block rifle by Alex Henry, built circa 1870.  The 28" nitro-proved two-stage barrel was lined from the original .450.  The bore is excellent.  The barrel is engraved: ALEXR. HENRY 12 SOUTH ST. ANDREW ST. EDINBURGH PATENT 1451 AND 340.  Rear sights consist of one standing and two folding leaves with platinum sight-lines, marked 100,  200 and 300, along with an African-style ladder sight marked from 400 to 1000 yards.  The left-side lock is non-rebounding, and has a stalking safety.  The action, lock-plate and furniture feature excellent scroll engraving.  There are British-style sling eyes, and engraved pistol-grip cap and a vacant initial shield.  The keyed fore-end has a horn tip.  The figured stock and fore-end have crisp checkering.  The length of pull is 14 1/8" with a checkered steel butt-plate.  The weight is 7 lbs 8 oz.  An absolutely fabulous rifle.
