Offered is an exceptional percussion sporting rifle by Adam Kruchenreuker of Regensburg, crafted in the late 1880sand representing the height of German gunmaking artistry of the period.
This rifle is richly engraved with fine scrollwork and a detailed hunting scene, complemented by a beautifully carved buttstock depicting a resting hunter tenderly petting his faithful dog—a striking and uncommon motif that immediately sets this piece apart.
The 29 1/4" octagon barrel retains its attractive browned finish and features an excellent bore. The rifle is fitted with a set trigger, original rear peep sight, and a hinged patchbox neatly inlet into the stock. Lockwork is fully functional, crisp, and correct.
