1870 Springfield 1st Type Trapdoor Rifle one of a thousand produced
Description: REDUCED! This model 1870 1st type is one of only 1000 rifles produced with these unique features. The 1st type is marked on the breach block with 1870 US only and used the 1863 marked lock plate. The rear sight base almost touches the short action used on this model and is unique to the 1st type. The rifle is chambered in 50-70 government amd the bore of this rifle is clean and bright showing strong rifling. The wood shows typical dings and dents associated with a military rifle of this period but there are no cracks or structural issues. The action is strong and works as designed. Overall condition is very good. If you are looking for a rare Indian War period rifle made prior to the Little Big Horn here is your chance. Shipping will be at actual cost based on location.
