The lockplate has an excellent Eagle and US Springfield marking. The bolt has the US Model 1873 marking. Serial # 251596 Mfg 1883. Also has an excellent bayonet US mkd and scabbard also an original sling in Exc condition Metal overall has a fading original blue brown patina finish with the top tang having case colors. Also Has several documents confirming that it is Sergt Walter H Johnson 13th Minn Red Wing Minn served in the Phillipines april 1898 . owned this rifle and scabbard.
