Lock signed in script “BLAIR”. Massachusetts or Rhode Island walnut stock with classic curved butt. Brass “URN” finial trigger guard and ramrod pipes. Brass butt plate with light engraving including a nice “UNION JACK” shield. Original wood ramrod. Fine overall with the lock having all the original parts and crisp markings. Metal with dark original patina and stock with a blackened attic finish. Lock in perfect working order. Many of these saw service in the Revolution with New England “Minute Man” companies particularly in the early part of the war.
