The flat lock is fitted flush with the stock. It is well-marked with a large eagle and panoply of flags over “Whitneyville” in large letters with “1863” at the tail. This is another of Whitney’s “good and serviceable arms not requiring gauge inspection”. These were sold to state militias. Fewer than 100 flush lock models were made. Don’t miss this one!
