Description: REEDSBURG, WISCONSIN LONG RIFLE D.A. BARNHART TARGET Antique Double Set Triggers, .38 Caliber Here we present an antique D.A. Barnhart Percussion Long Rifle, manufactured circa the 1860s in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. D.A. Barnhart was a gunsmith and Reedsburg village leader, holding both the office of President and trustee in the 1870s. He came from a family of gunsmiths and gunmakers that were settled in the Sauk County area of Wisconsin. This is a slightly later gun set up for precision and target use. The overall condition is good+. Brown finish. The action is strong. Set trigger must be set. The bore is in good condition, dim with sharp rifling. The stock shows use. There is a small repair just ahead of the lock and a short, stable split at the screw head on the left stock flat. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
