The 1885 falling block was considered by most to be the strongest action ever produced. It was used to test new cartridges and also as the basis for Winchester to become a competitor at the Target/Match Competitions in the 1800's and early 1900's. This is one of them produced specifically for the US Army as a marksmanship training rifle. It features a round 28 inch barrel with crisp engraving and very good blue, a Lyman post and peep sight, straight grip walnut stock and a long forestock with finger grooves.
