U.S.S. Constitution 24 Pounder Deck Gun
Description: 1/13 scale replica of the famous 24-pounder used on the main gun deck of the U.S.S. Constitution "Old Ironsides". The barrel length is 9" and its largest diameter ring, at the breech, is 1.580" (a little less than 1 5/8"). It is precision turned from brass bar stock and is bored and reamed to .38 caliber. The carriage is constructed of oiled American black walnut. The length of the carriage, from the tip of the bumper to the back, is 5 3/4". The axles measure 3 7/8" from tip to tip. The overall length of the assembled cannon (barrel and carriage) is 9 3/16". All of the hardware is solid brass. The cannon assembly weighs 3.36 lbs. Though the seller will not accept any liability for an accident brought on by the firing of this piece, numbers of others have been fired using .38 caliber lead balls and black powder charges appropriate for the caliber. It is truly a "high end" replica for your den, office, or fun at the range. Shipping is USPS Large "Flat Rate". MADE IN AMERICA ... as it should be. As a special note, one of these cannons was purchased as a gift and given to the officer who assumed command of the U.S.S. Constitution in August of 2015. Price: $700.00 Contact Seller |
