• Antique U.S. Sharps New Model 1863 Carbine, 50/70 Conversion Serial # C280XX (C prefix denotes (1000 )280XX)MFG This is a Single Shot Lever operated Falling  block breech Loading Carbine. The 2 piece walnut  stock has a surface crack on the stock at the butt but the forearm  has no cracks  but both have their fair share of nicks dings and bruises and a few minor losses at the edges But are in good shape to be over 150 years old  It has  what looks to be a small  cartouche  on the right side  near the butt plate (see Picture ) . The bluing and case hardening  is worn but strong   and the bore is in good I am not a expert on these guns and have included pictures of all the markings as there are too many to list I have also included a picture of the Description from the 8th edition of Flayermans Guide to antique Firearms Page 171so please be sure of what you are purchasing by contacting me at the sellers link to ask questions before  to make sure this is the model you are looking for .
