Mowry of Norwich Arms Co. of Norwich, Connecticut. This musket was used in the American Civil War, then sold on the surplus market. It has been shortened. The lock is marked “1863” and “U.S./NORWICH”. Butt plate is marked “US” and “A/41”. Breach is marked with “V/P/Eaglehead”. Surfaces are bright. Stock is solid and smooth. Bore is bright, clean and sharp. Action is very strong. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 28 inches.
