Here is a fabulous, virtually unused Oberndorf custom 98 Mauser sporter. The metalwork was done by Jasper Raybourne, and the rifle was impeccably stocked by David Pearce, who also blued the 24” Douglas barrel. The case colors were done by Turnbull. A Lyman sight is installed. The bottom metal is from an ’09 Argentine Mauser, and the floor-plate is hinged. The lightly figured stock is beautifully shaped and checkered, and the inletting is absolutely perfect. The grip cap is case colored. The length of pull is 13 ¾” including a smooth steel butt-plate. The weight is 7 lbs 13 oz. You won’t find better workmanship on a Mauser sporter than on this handsome rifle.
