J. P. Sauer Pre-War Double Rifle plus Combination Barrels.

Description: Here is a fabulous pre-war boxlock non-ejector two-barrel set by J. P. Sauer & Sohn. The combination barrels, built in 1931, are 8x57R x 12 gauge. The barrels are 26.7” (68cm) with very good bores. The shotgun barrel has a 2 ¾” chamber and is choked .034 (full). The combination barrels have a claw-mounted Zeiss 6x42 scope with a German no. 4 reticle and clear optics. The double rifle barrels were built in 1996. They are 9.3x74R and measure 24.4” (62cm) with a broad matt rib. A scope rail has been installed. The action features side-clips and a Greener-type cross-bolt. The front trigger is a set trigger, and there are side-mounted rotary cocking indicators. The fore-end has a Deeley & Edge patent latch release. The lightly figured stock has an engraved pistol grip cap and a shadow line cheek piece. The length of pull is 14 5/8” over a butt-plate with the J. P. Sauer logo. The weights are: 7 lbs 11 oz (combination barrels without scope); 8 lbs 10 oz (combo barrels with scope); and 8 lbs 8 oz (double rifle barrels.) This is a wonderful and very useful set in excellent condition.
