Description: Spectacular small gauge Fred Adolf drilling of Genoa, New York. A superb and lightweight drilling from an American master craftsman. Barrels are 24 inch length in 20 gauge x 20 gauge x 22 hornet. with folding leaf sight. Bores are clear. Extractors. Beautifully original case colored hardened snap action with double triggers. Gorgeous French walnut with black streaks, fancy checkering and a carved horn grip cap. Length of pull is 14 1/2 inches. Mechanics are excellent. This is a double under lug with dolls head third faster. This is one of the finest original condition Fred Adolf drillings we have ever seen. Very lightweight and we'll dimensioned. A truly outstanding example from one of America's iconic makers. As Charles Newton wrote in Fred Adolph's book entitled "Modern Guns", the place of the three barrel gun was often thought to be used for Midsummer hunting. This was to satisfy the urge of most hunters desire to shoot 365 days a year even when the normal game season was closed.
