Some were later converted to 7.62 NATO by boring out the barrel to .30 caliber, boring out the old chamber and brazing a .308 Winchester chamber insert. This rifle has been re-blued, the action drilled and tapped for scope mounting plus had the bolt altered to clear a scope. .308 Winchester
