This gun shipped on the same day, November 10, 1897 as the Ulrich engraved gold Model 1893 rifle offered in this sale. These splendid rifles were likely produced for display at the California Golden Jubilee held in San Francisco January 24-29, 1898, hence their brilliant arresting gold finish and the superb exhibition quality engraving.
