This Marlin's serial number is S16346. It has the 24 inch octagonal barrel chambered to shoot the 22 Short, Long And Long Rifle cartridge. This rifle can handle the 22 standard velocity ammunition only! Do not shoot high velocity ammunition in this Marlin. You can damage the breech block lug. The bore is in excellent condition. This rifle has the star with a dot in the center on the upper tang. This means that this rifle has been inspected by the final inspector and has been denoted that this rifle was as near perfection as the finest of materials, equipment and skill can make this rifle. The barrel and magazine blue would rate a 98% condition. The receiver color cased finish would rate a 98% lightly faded condition. The stock and forend have no cracks or other damage. The wood retain all of it's original finish. The sights are special sights. The tang sight is a Lyman threaded post that can allow different styles of peep disc sights. The front sight is the globe sight that can be changed to different sights for different targets. The marlin's hard rubber butt plate is in fine original condition with no chips. This is a wonderful condition Marlin with the Special Star stamp. This Rifle should hold a special place in any fine collection!
