The operating rod is hand-scratched with the number “1075116." The rifle retains a correct early flip rear sight marked “S." The low wood stock remains in very good condition with faint cartouches still visible. The carbine is accompanied by a sling and oiler, with the sling marked “J.H. Steinbeck." Inland was the largest producer of M1 Carbines during WWII, and early configuration examples such as this remain highly collectible. Overall, this is an excellent example of a WWII-era M1 Carbine. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
