This Springfield Armory M1 Garand is built around receiver serial number 3815066, placing production in the final months of World War II during Springfield’s 1945 manufacturing run. The rifle presents in desirable CMP Expert Grade style configuration, combining a genuine U.S. military receiver with modern upgrades that deliver exceptional shootability while preserving the unmistakable profile and handling characteristics that made the Garand legendary.

The rifle is fitted with a Criterion (CBI) barrel dated 08/24, one of the most respected commercial replacement barrels available in today’s Garand market. Armorer tags indicate a muzzle reading of 0+ and throat erosion of 0+, numbers consistent with an essentially new barrel. Combined with the long-stroke gas piston operating system and robust T105-style rear sight assembly, this rifle is configured for outstanding range performance and long-term service life.

The bolt is marked 6528287-SA, a Springfield Armory component associated with post-war production and rebuild programs. The rifle wears a CMP walnut stock set bearing a CMP cartouche on the left side of the buttstock. Metal finish is evenly parkerized throughout, while the stock displays attractive walnut grain with small cosmetic dings on the handguard area.

Adopted by the United States in 1936, the M1 Garand revolutionized infantry firepower by giving American soldiers a rugged, semi-automatic battle rifle at a time when most armies still relied on bolt-action designs. The rifle served with distinction throughout World War II and Korea, earning General George S. Patton’s famous praise as “the greatest battle implement ever devised.” Late-war Springfield receivers such as this represent the culmination of wartime Garand production and remain highly sought after by shooters and collectors alike.

For collectors seeking a historically significant Garand they can confidently shoot, this Springfield checks all the right boxes. You get a genuine WWII Springfield Armory receiver, a premium Criterion barrel with virtually new readings, attractive CMP walnut furniture, and the reliability expected from a professionally rebuilt Garand. It is a sharp, clean example that delivers classic American military history without sacrificing modern shooting performance.
