"WWI Model 1917 Eddystone Bolt Action Rifle .30-06 (D2026-00881)(DTX)
Description:
"Serial no. 1264465. Manufactured in November 1918 by Eddystone Rifle Plant, chambered in .30-06 Springfield,26"" round barrel marked “H.S./Flaming Bomb/P." The bore is good with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. The barrel has been upgraded for post-WWI service, reflecting continued use of the Model 1917 into the interwar period. The metal surfaces are thinning to a light grey patina consistent with age and service wear. The bolt is marked “R." The stock shows expected handling and usage marks while remaining in overall very good condition. The Model 1917 served as the primary U.S. service rifle during WWI and continued to see use following arsenal updates. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
