EDDYSTONE ~ MODEL OF 1917 ~ .30-06 SPRINGFIELD
Description: The Model of 1917 from Eddystone was a way to get rifles to the front in a hurry, as the factory was already producing it in .303 British to aid Britain in the European War. The US simply replace the .303 barrel with .30-06 on the factory line, and kept on going. This aided the war effort two ways... It got rifles to the troops more quickly, and it eased logistics by using the US standard military cartridge. This one is in good shape with a few defects, but should be a good shooter, and the scars could generate a multitude of stories. It was manufactured in June 1918 and the barrel agrees with the date code 5 - 18. .30-06 Springfield Curio/Relic: Yes Chambers: 5 rounds Metal Condition: "Good.
