Mossberg & Sons Inc. Lever Action Model 402 Palomino Series Hammerless Repeating Rifle with a Leather Sling, chambered in .22 Rimfire, made circa 1959-1964 in North Haven, Connecticut. This gun is the carbine version of the Model 400 rifle. This is a great gun for doing some rabbit or squirrel hunting or just taking it out to the woods and peppering a few tin cans on a sunny afternoon. Its tubular magazine held 15 rounds of Long Rifle, 17 rounds of Longs, and 20 rounds of Shorts. It features a Monte Carlo stock with a checkered pistol grip and a semi-beavertail forearm. The overall condition is excellent. Original finish. Excellent, crisp action. Markings are sharp. The bore is shiny with serviceable rifling. Fine stock. Fine leather sling.
