Antique Tiger Stripe Full Stock Rifle New York Maker 41
Description: From a mid-west sale, a very nice full stock Antique eastern style 50 caliber Percussion Rifle. The Tiger Stripe maple wood is aged to a uniform color with no chips, cracks or missing wood other than a crack on the left side of the tang (see photo); however, the stock is solid as a rock. There are dents and dings form 100 years use (see photos). The stock is solid (not loose) and has a brass entrance thimble, 2 brass thimbles, brass trigger guard and crescent butt plate. The brass three piece patch box needs the latch adjusted. The metal finish is a mottled brown patina with some oxidation (see photos). The gun is 56" over all length with a 41" barrel (What I can see of the bore looks dark....I have not cleaned this gun or taken it apart) the ram rod appears to be original to the gun. There is a fixed rear sight and a blade front sight. The trigger and lock function as they should however the lock spring needs to be replaced. The lock is stamped KETLAND & Co. and the top barrel flat is marked "H. TURNER ALBANY" (see photos). The brass butt plate and trigger guard are undamaged (see photos). The old wooden ram rod matches the gun perfectly. I can not guarantee a gun this old will shoot however it appears, restorable. At the sale they said Henry Turner was a gunsmith in Albany NY (15 Beaver St. Albany) form 1820 to 1823. Everything appears old and original to my untrained eye, but since I can not guarantee the origins of this gun I am offering it with a 100% satisfaction guarantee, if it does not live up to your expectations in any way return it for a full and speedy refund including your return shipping (see my feedback). We trade guns. No reserve. NO FFL REQUIRED....CAN BE SHIPPED TO A RESIDENTIAL ADDRESS. I do not recommend firing any used weapon until it has been thoroughly examined by a certified gunsmith . Cashiers check or money order only. Shipping $45.00 which includes a tracking number emailed to you. Insurance is optional. Missouri residents pay 8.45% sales tax where applicable. Three day inspection No Questions Asked return policy. SOLD Antique: Yes |
