Beautiful Custom M. Compton Pennsylvania Flintlock Rifle 45 Caliber

Description:
Serial #NSN, .45 Caliber black powder percussion, 42 inch octagon barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is a modern, custom built Flintlock rifle marked "M. Compton" on the brass trigger guard and features beautiful Tiger Stripe Maple wood stock with a sliding wood patch box in the stock with release mechanism on the butt and has double set triggers. In excellent condition the barrel retains virtually all, 97-99% of the original brown finish with the simply engraved lock and action showing a pewter gray. The beautifully finished stock show an excellent striped grain pattern and remains excellent with several minor handling contusions and dings. The brass hardware is excellent. The side plate, lock plate, buttplate and inlaid forend brass all display simple decorative engraving. The action functions properly holding at half and full cock releasing with a very sensitive trigger. An extremely well built gun with very nice components that is sure to become a family heirloom.
