Remington Model 1903 A3 Springfield Rifle World War 2 Issue Still In The Cosmoline
Description: SOLD The Remington barrel date is 9-43. The rifle's serial number is 4032548. This rifle has the standard 24 inch military barrel chambered for the 30 Government 1906 cartridge [30-06]. This rifle was stored at the Raritan Arsenal. This gun was purchased by Fred Funk of Tucson Arizona from the N.R.A. Marksmanship program. This rifle is still in the original cosmoline grease. As you can see from the photos, this rifle has a heavy coat of cosmoline on it. From what I can see, this looks like a near new rifle. The cosmoline has collected a lot of surface junk through the years. The cosmoline is still pliable and not dried out. It would be up to the collector to keep this rifle the way it is or clean the gun up. Would make a nice winter project! The original box is in poor condition as can be seen in the photos. The labels are important from a collector point of view however. This will have to be a two box shipment. One for the rifle and one for the box itself. It is really seldom that you find the rifle with the original shipping box and still in the cosmoline! Here is a nice collector grade Remington 1903 A3 for the collector to unwrap!
