Remington Model 121 Shotgun With Routledge Bore With Rare Chamber Markings
Description:
This Remington Shotgun was produced in 1939. The shotgun's serial number is 30859. This gun is fitted with a 23 inch barrel that is Routledge bored. This barrel is marked Smooth Bore and is also marked 22 Short-Long or Long Rifle. The 22 Short-Long Or long Rifle marking is a error by Remington as this gun is supposed to shoot the 22 Long Rifle Shot Shell Only. The Smooth Bore is another mistake as this gun is a Routledge bored barrel. The shotgun bore is bright and clean. This barrel does have the German Silver Shotgun front bead. There is no provision for a rear sight. This 22 shotgun shows very little use or wear. The original bluing would rate a 98% condition. The only wear is on the magazine tube where it moves up and down during pumping the action. The stock and pump handle are in almost new condition. The take down feature is tight with no play. this is a very collectable Remington 121 Shotgun! I have handled many of these Remington Shotguns through the years. I have never seen one chamber marked like this before! This Remington deserves to be in a fine collection to appreciate this unusual Shotgun! The Three 22 Shotgun Shell Boxes Are Not For Sale! For Display Only
