Introduced to the U.S. market in 1994 by Mitchell Arms, this rifle was manufactured in the Philippines as part of an effort to offer an affordable, traditional utility rifle utilizing the legacy "High Standard" name marketing license.

Feeding System: Fed via a detachable 10-shot single-stack steel box magazine. The magazine release is a spring-loaded steel tab located directly ahead of the trigger guard bow.
Safety Mechanism: A mechanical two-position thumb safety toggle is located on the right rear quadrant of the receiver, locking both the sear and the bolt handle when pulled fully rearward to the "Safe" position.
