#18129, John Rigby & Co., 43 Sackville St. London: A Best Quality Rigby Sidelock Ejector in 7x65R Made in 1930, Engraved by the British Master Mr. Harry Kell, Built as a 7mm Rigby Magnum (275 #2), Then in 1994 it was at Rigby in London and rechambered (Not Rebored) to the 7x65R, It then was regulated to RWS 177 grain Brenneke Torpedo bullet, Then reproved to 4290 BAR in London and so marked and dated, Rigby has records relative this cartridge conversion, 26" Ejector Chopper Lump barrels, Dolls head extension with a third bite, 1/4 rib with 1 standing & 2 folding rear sights, Double triggers with the forward trigger checkered, Bushed strikers, Excellent original wood with nice color & contrast that is as sound as it was in 1930, Horn grip cap, No cheekpiece, 14 13/16" LOP over a checkered horn buttplate, 8 lbs. 13 oz., 95% engraving coverage by the British Master Mr. Harry Kell that is done in a slightly unique pattern from the norm of Rigby's from this era, It retains 50% original case colors, The barrel blue at 98%, The stock and forend at 95%, The checkering is at 99%, The bores remain in excellent plus condition. It is smack on the face and the striker bushings still retain 70% original heat blue. The piece comes with the original brass cornered leather trunk with the original label and then Marvin Huey did his magic on a complete and total re-do of the interior and added a bunch of nice accessories. This is flat out one classic Pre-War Rigby that remains in superb mechanical condition. As this gun displays his scroll work was somewhat larger than that which is so typical on most English guns with smaller scroll work.
