Rare Rifled 24 Gauge Husqvarna Model 12 Rolling Block Stalking Rifle
Description: Very cool little Husqvarna Model 12 in the unusual 24 gauge with straight rifling. This specimen was built somewhere right around 1900, and these were used in Sweden with both round ball for moose, red deer and roe deer, as well as with bird shot for black grouse, capercaillie, hare, etc. This rifle has a 33 1/2" barrel with deep rifling. There are a couple of messed up screw heads on the left side of the receiver, but the action is crisp and tight and functions perfectly. The rear sight has been removed. The walnut stocks have plenty of dings and scratches, but are solid. The length of pull is just a hair under 14" over a smooth steel butt plate. The rifle weighs only 6 lbs, 1 oz, and would be really fun to carry in the woods after deer, boar or grouse. (You could rebarrel it - but why? 24 gauge shotshells are available from Fiocchi, and 24 gauge brass is made by Magtech.) Please feel free to contact me with any questions, and please check my listings for other unique vintage sporting arms in the coming days.
