Th receiver retains perhaps 92% original vibrant case-hardened colors with areas muting to smooth silvery gray patina. The triggerguard and buttstock collar retain a similar amount of bright blue showing a little brown freckling and some handling marks along the bow of the guard while the top latch retains about 94% brilliant bright blue showing some scattered light oxidation staining. The left barrel flat shows a strong sub-inspector stamp and the markings on the left side of the action remain completely intact and strong. The smooth walnut buttstock and forend remain in excellent condition with some scattered light dings and handling marks but never cleaned, sanded or refinished and have no splits, no cracks and no extra holes.
