Description:
A beautiful Springfield 1884 trapdoor with its serial number dating back to early Janurary of 1892. The breech block and receiver are original, while the barrel, windage adjustor, hammer, side plates, butt plate, and trigger guard have all been replaced and re-blued to a bright shine. The wood stock has also been replaced with a sporterized version, lacking sling mounts, but has remained in excellent condition with a smooth polish and re-varnishing. The sporterized stock includes hollowed-out compartments for a trapdoor cleaning kit. Despite its restoration, the rifle is in beautiful condition with very little blemish or scratching to the stock, while the rifle is in perfect working order. With the barrel having been replaced, the rifling is likewise superbly clean. Does not include any extras. Chambered in .45-70 Govt Trapdoor-rated or black powder ammunition. .45-70 Government
