U.S. Springfield ~ Model 1884 Trapdoor ~ .45-70 Gov't.
Description:
This U.S. Springfield Model 1884 was manufactured sometime between July & September 1891. Gun remains in very good overall condition. Wood has a small crack in front of screw on left behind receiver and a large scratch on left buttstock. Wood has been totally redone and has lost any trace of patina with a glossy finish added. Inspector's cartouche remains visible but somewhat hard to read. Metal has a light coat of oxidation on sling swivel and inside trigger guard. Bore is lightly frosted but may clean up well.
