Description: Stevens Ideal No. 414 Armory Model Falling Block Rifle in .22 Long Rifle This Stevens Ideal #414 Armory Model falling block rifle is in .22 Long Rifle and had a 26” round barrel Standard smooth walnut buttstock and long forend It also features a grooved black hard rubber buttplate Condition: This rifle is in excellent shape The bore is bright shiny and in excellent shape. The barrel retains about 97% original blue with spots of light oxidation and some light handling marks near the muzzle. The barrel band, trigger, hammer, and breechblock retain about 40% original blue strongest on the breechblock with the balance toning to a gray patina with spots of light oxidation. The frame and lever retain about 80% original case-hardening which is drifting to gray on the high edges and contact points with fine speckles of light oxidation. The smooth walnut buttstock rates near excellent with a few light handing marks. The forend rates closer to very good with an unfortunate 3/4” dent on the left side (pictured). The rifle is sighted with a Lyman globe front with lollipop insert and an unmarked period receiver sight with small aperture. The action function well mechanically. This rifle appears to have had little use and with the exception og the dent on the forarm mentioned above this is an excellent example of #414 ready to use and enjoy.
